Abstract

Een wortelperforatie is een mechanische of pathologische communicatie tussen het parodontium en het wortelkanaalstelsel (AAE glossary 2003). Perforaties kunnen ontstaan als complicatie tijdens een wortel - kanaalbehandeling of tijdens een restauratieve procedure, zoals het prepareren van ruimte voor een wortelstift. Bovendien kunnen pathologische processen, zoals cariës of wortelresorptie, resulteren in een perforatie.
