Samenvatting

Gabapentine (gbp) wordt sinds de jaren negentig van de vorige eeuw gebruikt voor de behandeling van neuropathische pijn. Enkele jaren geleden is er een nieuwe versie van dit middel op de markt gekomen, namelijk pregabaline (PGB). Beide middelen waren oorspronkelijk bedoeld als anti-epileptica, maar worden – omdat ze relatief weinig toxisch zijn – ook voor andere dan de oorspronkelijke indicatie gebruikt.
