Beïnvloeding van de motivatie voor verslavingshulp bij mensen met een lichte verstandelijke beperking

Samenvatting

Mensen met een verstandelijke beperking en verslavingsproblematiek zijn vaak niet vanuit zichzelf (autonoom) gemotiveerd om iets aan hun (middelen)gebruik te doen. Dit artikel gaat in op de toepassing van de zelf-determinatie theorie ten behoeve van de interventie Sterker dan de kick. Doel van deze interventie is om mensen met een lichte verstandelijke beperking te helpen bij het ontwikkelen van autonome motivatie, om hun (middelen)gebruik (alcohol, drugs, gamen en internetten) te veranderen. Daarvoor worden technieken uit motiverende gespreksvoering toegepast.
