9 Cognitieve therapie ter preventie van terugval bij depressie en angststoornissen

Samenvatting

De depressieve stoornis en angststoornissen zijn de meest voorkomende psychische aandoeningen die bovendien regelmatig samen voorkomen (Murray & Lopez, 1997; De Graaf, Ten Have & Van Dorsselaer, 2010). Ze hebben een grote impact op het persoonlijk functioneren (Mathers & Loncar, 2006; Alonso e.a., 2004; Mendlowicz & Stein, 2000), veroorzaken veel persoonlijk leed, en brengen ook maatschappelijke problematiek en kosten met zich mee (Smit, 2009; Rice & Miller, 1998). In dit hoofdstuk beschrijven we de prevalentie van terugval bij depressie en angst, het meest gehanteerde cognitieve model achter recidivering, cognitieve interventiemethoden ter preventie van terugval bij depressie en angststoornissen en de evidentie daarvoor.
