Kernpunten

  • Eelt is een reactie van de huid op intermitterende druk en wrijving.
  • Clavi ontstaan daarom als gevolg van abnormale drukverhoudingen, zoals die worden gezien bij anatomische afwijkingen.
  • De combinatie van clavi en diabetes mellitus komt vaak voor (door standafwijkingen aan de voet ten gevolge van de neuropathie van zowel de sensorische als de motorische vezels) en noopt tot grote voorzichtigheid in verband met de verhoogde infectiekans.
  • Het beleid omvat behandeling van de klachten (keratolytica en excisie), wegnemen van de oorzaak en preventie van recidieven.
