19 Cholelithiasis, cholecystitis en cholangitis

Samenvatting

Galblaasstenen komen veel voor en gaan gepaard met een niet onaanzienlijke morbiditeit.1 In Nederland worden jaarlijks 20.000 patiënten met symptomatisch galsteenlijden in ziekenhuizen opgenomen en worden ongeveer 17.000 cholecystectomieën verricht. Galsteenziekten vormen daardoor een aanzienlijk deel van de totale kosten van de gezondheidszorg.
