Samenvatting

Polyethyleen is een soort plastic dat wordt gebruikt in de meeste typen endoprothesen die ouderen geïmplanteerd krijgen in knie of heup. In geval van de totale knieprothese wordt meestal een metalen femurdeel en een hiermee articulerend polyethyleen tibiadeel geïmplanteerd.
