Samenvatting

Besenreiservarices zijn pathologische dilataties van kleine oppervlakkige vaten in de huid. Ze danken hun naam aan de gelijkenis met de ouderwetse takkenbezem of ‘heksenbezem’. De besenreiservarices kunnen blauw of rood gekleurd zijn. Andere benamingen zijn cutane microvarices, penseelvarices, berkentwijgjes, teleangiëctasieën, Pinzelfiguren, hyphen webs en spider webs.¹
