Samenvatting

Een bakercyste, ook wel kniekuilcyste genoemd, is een fluctuerende, niet-pijnlijke zwelling in de knieholte.¹ Het is in feite een uitgezette bursa in de fossa poplitea. De eerste die deze aandoening beschreef (in 1877) was de Engelse chirurg William Morrant Baker (1839-1896).²,³
