Podiatrists are best option for plantar warts referrals

Jeff Evans Podiatry training establishment, Cardiff

In your article on plantar warts (art & science June 28), the author suggested that referral to dermatology departments ‘places an unnecessary burden on medical and nursing staff whose dermatology expertise is better used managing acute and difficult chronic conditions’. I would suggest referring patients with plantar warts to aregistered podiatrist or to the nearest podiatry training establishment.
