Samenvatting

Bacteriën in de mondholte leven voor het grootste gedeelte georganiseerd in biofilms. Biofilms worden gedefinieerd als gestructureerde samenlevingen waarin bacteriën zijn ingebed in een geleiachtige matrix van polysacchariden en zijn aangehecht aan een oppervlak.
