Samenvatting

Hoofdpijn hoort tot de tien meest invaliderende aandoeningen (1). Het hoofd is een van de kwetsbaarste onderdelen van ons lichaam; denk aan de automatische afscherming ervan bij een val. Vooral hevige, terugkerende pijn aan het hoofd wordt daarom vaak als zeer bedreigend ervaren.
