13. Zelfmanagementinterventies: ontwikkeling, evaluatie en implementatie

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk behandelt het wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar verpleegkundige interventies ter ondersteuning van zelfmanagement. Twee hoofdvormen van onderzoek staan daarbij centraal: het interventieonderzoek (over de ontwikkeling van de interventies) en het evaluatieonderzoek (over de evaluatie van de effecten en het proces van invoering). Eerst bespreken we wat zelfmanagementinterventies zijn en waarom ze als complexe interventies worden beschouwd. Daarna geven we eerst voorbeelden van theorieën waarop zelfmanagementinterventies kunnen zijn gebaseerd. Vervolgens laten we zien welke mechanismen de effectiviteit van zelfmanagementinterventies bepalen. Dan werken we twee modellen uit voor de systematische ontwikkeling van interventies: het MRC-raamwerk en het Intervention Mapping-model. Bij de bespreking van evaluatieonderzoek komen verschillende designs aan bod. Hoe de effecten van de interventies kunnen worden vastgesteld, welke uitkomstmaten daarbij kunnen worden gebruikt en wat het belang is van een procesevaluatie met mixed-methods-aanpak. Tot slot wordt het proces van implementatie in de praktijk besproken.
