15. Werkzaamheid en werkzame factoren van psychotherapie

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk belicht de effectiviteit van psychotherapeutische behandelinterventies voor het brede spectrum van persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. Via diverse zoekstrategieën zijn studies geselecteerd. Studies naar de effectiviteit van enkelvoudige persoonlijkheidsstoornissen, zoals de borderlinepersoonlijkheidsstoornis, worden in dit hoofdstuk niet besproken. De effectiviteit wordt besproken van respectievelijk ambulante individuele psychotherapie, ambulante groepspsychotherapie, dagklinische psychotherapie en klinische psychotherapie voor het brede spectrum van persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. De beschikbare studies bestrijken cluster A (schizoïde, paranoïde en schizotypische persoonlijkheidsstoornissen), cluster B (borderline-, antisociale, narcistische en histrionische persoonlijkheidsstoornis), cluster C (vermijdende, afhankelijke en dwangmatige persoonlijkheidsstoornis) en niet anderszins omschreven persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. Hierbij inbegrepen zijn enkele studies die specifiek zijn gericht op cluster-C-persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. De conclusies op basis van deze studies kwamen volledig overeen met de conclusies op basis van de studies naar het brede spectrum. Hoewel dit hoofdstuk gaat over het brede spectrum van persoonlijkheidsstoornissen, hebben de conclusies niet voor iedere afzonderlijke persoonlijkheidsstoornis evenveel geldingskracht.
