Samenvatting

Voor een adequate behandeling van solitaire hypertriglyceridemie (triglyceriden nuchter boven 2,0 mmol/L en bij diabeten nuchter boven de 1,7 mmol/L) is de diagnose bepalend. Voor atherosclerose geldt dat zelfs binnen het normale gebied, tot 2 mmol/L nuchter triglyceriden, er een sterke relatie bestaat met het risico op hart- en vaatziekten.
