Inhalatie is een belangrijke route waardoor stoffen in het menselijk lichaam binnen kunnen komen. Daarom is het verstandig om de luchtwegen te beschermen tegen schadelijke stoffen. In de tandheelkunde kunnen roterende en ultrasone apparaten aerosolen met een verhoogd aantal levende bacteriën, maar ook andere antigenen of infectieuze stoffen, genereren (Gehring et al. 1976). Deze vormen een bedreiging voor de gezondheid van mensen in de behandelkamer maar ook de overige ruimtes van de praktijk (Grenier 1995). …
