Samenvatting

Ultraviolette (UV) straling als therapie voor dermatologische aandoeningen wordt sinds lange tijd met succes toegepast. Op basis van golflengte wordt UV-straling ingedeeld in UVC (100-280 nm), UVB (280-320 nm) en UVA (320-400 nm). Het UVA-gedeelte wordt weer onderverdeeld in UVA-2 (320-340 nm) en UVA-1 (340-400 nm). In de dermatologie maakt men als therapeutische toepassing vrijwel uitsluitend gebruik van UVB en UVA.
