Samenvatting

Fluxus post partum, of haemorrhagia post partum (HPP), is een relatief vaak voorkomende (3-5%) complicatie van de baring, die wordt gekenmerkt door overmatig bloedverlies (> 1000 ml) uit laesies van het baringskanaal of uit het placentabed. In het laatste geval is het excessieve bloedverlies meestal het gevolg van onvoldoende contractiliteit van de baarmoeder. Men spreekt dan van uterusatonie.
