Samenvatting

Het medicinale gebruik van marihuana en cannabinoïden staat al langere tijd in de publieke belangstelling. Het is ook een onderwerp van politieke discussie geweest. In 1996 heeft de toenmalige minister van Volksgezondheid, mevrouw Borst, besloten om op grond van een rapport van de Gezondheidsraad het medicinaal gebruik van cannabis, op basis van de toen bekende literatuur, vooralsnog niet toe te staan (1).
