Waarom eten en bewegen bij kinderen met kanker belangrijk is

Samenvatting

Kinderen met kanker ondervinden veel bijwerkingen van de intensieve behandeling. Ze voelen zich ziek en misselijk, moeten overgeven, hebben last van diarree en obstipatie of hebben een pijnlijke mond door de mucositis. Dit maakt dat veel kinderen niet of heel weinig eten. Dit tekort wordt aangevuld met sondevoeding zodat ze weer op gewicht komen. Andere kinderen hebben juist heel veel trek door de dexamethason en willen het liefst de hele dag eten.
