Vriendschapsrelaties in de schematherapeutische behandeling van adolescenten

Samenvatting

Voor adolescenten met psychische problemen kan het vormen van stabiele vriendschapsrelaties lastig zijn. Vanwege het belang van positieve peer-relaties voor de ontwikkeling, en vanwege de risico’s die verbonden zijn met ambivalente vriendschapsrelaties, verdient dit thema de aandacht tijdens hun psychotherapeutische behandeling. In dit artikel geven de auteurs een overzicht van de literatuur over het belang van positieve vriendschapsrelaties tijdens de adolescentie en de impact van problematische vriendschappen. Deze problemen worden vervolgens in een schematherapeutisch kader geplaatst, aan de hand van praktijkvoorbeelden. Daarna wordt een aantal schematherapeutische interventies besproken die adolescenten mogelijk kunnen helpen constructiever om te gaan met vriendschapsrelaties.
