Samenvatting

Dit artikel beschrijft de werkwijze van het Early Detection and Intervention Team (EDIT) Den Haag; een team dat voort is gekomen uit de Early Detection and Intervention Evaluation Studie Nederland (EDIE-NL). Het team richt zich op de preventie van ernstige psychische klachten, zoals psychosen. Met een getrapte screening detecteert het team de groep mensen met een at risk mental state (ARMS); een verhoogd risico op het ontwikkelen van bijvoorbeeld een psychose. De hulpzoekende populatie tot 35 jaar in de tweedelijns ggz vult de ervaringenlijst (EL) in. Bij een verhoogde score wordt die groep geïnterviewd met een gestructureerd interview. Patiënten met een psychose worden verwezen naar het Centrum Eerste Psychose. Patiënten met een ARMS krijgen een psycho-educatieve, cognitief gedragstherapeutische behandeling aangeboden die is gericht op buitengewone en opmerkelijke ervaringen. De resultaten zijn vooralsnog niet bekend, maar de indruk van de therapeuten is dat er sprake is van vermindering van lijdensdruk en meer aandacht voor de gewone zaken van het leven.
