Ouderdom alleen is geen reden voor slikproblemen.
Beoordeel bij slikproblemen altijd of de patiënt medicatie gebruikt die invloed kan hebben op de slikfunctie.
Bij slikproblemen is meestal verwijzing nodig voor nadere diagnostiek (en multidisciplinaire) behandeling.
Denk aan de psychosociale implicaties van slikproblemen en ondersteun de patiënt én zijn partner hierin.
