Samenvatting

De vrees voor resistentie, door Fleming al geuit bij het op de markt brengen van penicilline, heeft in de eenentwintigste eeuw geleid tot een impasse in de infectiebestrijding. Door een conglomeraat van oorzaken zijn we nu zover. Het roer moet om, zodat infecties weer bestreden kunnen worden. Deze conclusie wordt overal aanvaard.
