Samenvatting

Kernpunten
  • Bij de helft van de ouderen met een valhistorie ontstaat valangst, maar valangst kan ook zonder valhistorie ontstaan.
  • Onzekerheid bij het lopen is het belangrijkste teken van valangst.
  • Zoek naar somatische oorzaken van valangst, zoals neurologische of orthopedische aandoeningen.
  • Fysiotherapie is waarschijnlijk de meest praktische en effectiefste interventie voor valangst.
