Samenvatting

Om de heterogene groep van tumoren van het zenuwstelsel te ordenen wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen primaire en secundaire tumoren. De eerste groep ontstaat vanuit de hersenen, zenuwen en omgevende structuren zelf, terwijl secundaire tumoren metastasen zijn naar het zenuwstelsel toe vanuit elders in het lichaam gelokaliseerde tumoren.
