Samenvatting

De dunne darm beslaat 75% van de totale lengte en 90% van het totale slijmvliesoppervlak van de tractus digestivus. Hij ligt tussen maag en colon: twee van de meest gebruikelijke plaatsen waar kanker van het maag- darmkanaal voorkomt. In de dunne darm komen weinig kwaadaardige tumoren voor.
