Een tremor van het hoofd is meestal een essentiële (primaire) tremor.
De diagnose wordt per exclusionem en op grond van patroonherkenning gesteld.
Meestal volstaan uitleg en geruststelling.
Bij wens tot medicatie is propranolol eerste keus.
