Traumasymptomen en relatietevredenheid: een onderzoek naar de bijdrage van eigen traumatische ervaringen en die van de partner bij paren met duaal trauma in een ambulante behandeling

Samenvatting

Bij een klinische steekproef van 107 paren, van wie beide partners kinderlijk trauma hadden meegemaakt, is onderzocht of de traumatische ervaring van de ene partner bijdroeg aan de traumasymptomen en relatietevredenheid van de andere partner, en zo ja in welke mate. De resultaten wijzen uit dat alleen de eigen traumatische ervaring bijdroeg aan symptomen van een dysfore stemming en van posttraumatische stress, dat alleen traumatische ervaringen van de partner bijdroegen aan symptomen van seksuele moeilijkheden en dat traumatische ervaringen van beide partners bijdroegen aan symptomen van zelfdysfunctie. Traumatische jeugdervaringen hadden in beperkte mate invloed op de relatietevredenheid. Genderverschillen in duaal trauma worden belicht. Ook de implicaties van de bevindingen voor het werkveld worden besproken.
