Samenvatting

Onder de thoraxchirurgie bij kinderen valt alle chirurgie in en aan de thorax, behalve de cardiale anatomische aandoeningen, die in Nederland worden verricht door de kinderhartchirurg. Onder de thoraxchirurgie bij kinderen onderscheiden we enkele deelgebieden: de aandoeningen van de thoraxwand (pectus excavatum en pectus carinatum), de aandoeningen van het diafragma (congenitale hernia diaphragmatica van Bochdalek en van Morgagni, de hiatus hernia en de eventratie van het diafragma) en de aandoeningen van de long (congenitale longafwijkingen en verworven longafwijkingen).
