The histology of intraoperative biopsies of small renal masses treated with laparoscopic cryoablation

De histologie van intraoperatieve biopten van kleine niertumoren die waren behandeld met laparoscopische cryoablatie

Introductie

Het doel van deze studie is de resultaten van een protocol voor intraoperatieve biopten van kleine niertumoren te rapporteren en te vergelijken met de literatuur.

Materiaal en methoden:

Retrospectief (periode 2007-2010) werd de histologie geanalyseerd van niertumoren die waren behandeld met laparoscopische cryoablatie (LCA). De histologische biopten werden geanalyseerd. Er werden minimaal 3 biopten per tumor genomen. Na een literatuurstudie (1998-2009) werden series van LCA die hun histologie rapporteerden, vergeleken met onze data.

Resultaten

Alle 61 gebiopteerde tumoren werden histologisch geclassificeerd. 49 maligne en 12 benigne tumoren werden gevonden. De interobserverovereenkomst voor het subtype en de nucleaire graad was 93% en 35%, respectievelijk. De ratio voor de diagnose en maligniteit was hoger in vergelijking met de literatuur.

Conclusie

Van alle volgens protocol gebiopteerde niertumoren kon een diagnose worden vastgesteld. In vergelijk met kleinere tumoren zijn laesies ≥3 cm vaker maligne.
