Abstract

Building critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in students for creativity skills before graduation is a global trend and institutions and researchers are expected to invest what they can to achieve it. Based on this, this study investigated the impact of rational emotive education on critical thinking among intending graduates. An experimental research design was used and a total of 82 participants were randomly assigned to the Rational Emotive Education group (41 participants) and comparison group (41 participants). Critical Thinking Motivational Scale was used to assess the students. The outcome showed that rational emotive education positively improves critical thinking among students. Based on this, future studies and the practice of practitioners should focus on building REE principles into the steps designed for critical thinking training.
