Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk wordt, aan de hand van een casus, het verschil uitgelegd tussen wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar individuele tests (klassiek testonderzoek) en het ontwikkelen van klinische predictiemodellen. Er zijn verschillende soorten predictiemodellen, afhankelijk van de uitkomst van zo’n model (diagnose, prognose of behandelkeuze). Tevens wordt aandacht besteed aan de interpretatie van gegevens die veelal in een wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar diagnostiek, en zeker de predictiemodellen worden gepresenteerd.
