Samenvatting

Wanneer gesproken wordt van te lang zijn, is dit vooral een subjectieve ervaring. De ‘normale’ lengte van een kind wordt meestal gedefinieerd als lengte of lengte binnen 2 standaarddeviaties (SD) van het populatiegemiddelde (Z-score tussen −2 en +2). Met deze standaarddeviatiescore (SDS) wordt voor een kind dat te lang is, meestal de grens van meer dan 2 SDS aangehouden.
