Samenvatting

Bij kinderen is er een tabel per leeftijdsgroep die aangeeft of het gewicht naar lengte (Body Mass Index (BMI bij het kind gezond is of dat er sprake is van overgewicht of obesitas. Overgewicht en obesitas vormen een ernstige bedreiging voor de gezondheid van kinderen en is daarmee een ‘kleine kwaal met grote gevolgen’.
