Samenvatting

Resistentie van micro-organismen tegen meerdere antimicrobiële middelen komt steeds vaker voor. Micro-organismen die resistent zijn tegen de zogenaamde ‘eerstekeuze-antibiotica’ of tegen hele groepen antimicrobiële middelen worden bijzondere resistente micro-organismen (BRMO) genoemd.

Op drie manieren is deze materie voor de tandheelkundige professie van belang: het contact met de besmette patent, een besmetting in het behandelteam en besmetting van de praktijk ruimte.
