Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk gaat over de taalontwikkeling van slechthorende kinderen. Vaak wordt gedacht dat de taalverwerving bij slechthorendheid goed te beheersen valt met geluidsversterkende apparatuur en passende begeleiding van het kind. Slechthorende kinderen presteren echter minder goed op taaltests dan horende kinderen van dezelfde leeftijd. Daarnaast wordt een grote variabiliteit in taalprestaties gevonden binnen de groep slechthorende kinderen.
