Samenvatting

Een 31-jarige vrouw krijgt pijn aan de radiale zijde van de pols. Nauwkeurig klinisch onderzoek toont aan dat er sprake moet zijn van een peesprobleem: een tendovaginitis van twee pezen. Het zijn de pezen van de m. abductor pollicis longus (APL) en die van de m. extensor pollicis brevis (EPB). De aandoening wordt ook wel het syndroom van De Quervain genoemd. Het hoofdstuk beschrijft de casus, het onderzoek en symptomen, diverse tests, de anatomie, de oorzaak, predisponerende factoren en de conservatieve behandelopties.
