Both low birth weight and accelerated infant growth have been identified as independent risk factors for obesity and cardiovascular disease in later life. One possible mechanism by which birth weight and infant growth may influence the risk of obesity and cardiovascular disease is that perinatal environment influences later energy homeostasis, including behavioral aspects like physical activity. Therefore, we´ll assess whether birth weight and infant growth is associated with physical activity and fitness in children. …
