Samenvatting

Stomatologische en kaakchirurgische ingrepen kunnen (vrijwel altijd) gerekend worden tot de reconstructieve/esthetische heelkunde, aangezien ze als doel hebben de verhoudingen in het faciale massief te herstellen of te veranderen. Uitzondering hierop vormt de behandeling van tandziekten (extreme cariës/abcessen en dergelijke) waarvoor soms (totale) extracties nodig zijn.
