Stagnaties in de therapeutische alliantie signaleren en repareren

Samenvatting

Met dit artikel beogen we een overzicht te geven van onderzoek dat zich de afgelopen twintig jaar heeft gericht op stagnaties in de therapeutische alliantie en de reparatie van stagnaties. Eerst definiëren we de concepten ‘therapeutische alliantie’ en ‘stagnaties’. Daarna komen twee methoden aan bod om stagnaties te signaleren: (1) de standaard afname van een alliantievragenlijst en (2) de signalering van stagnaties in het contact met de cliënt. Vervolgens beschrijven we interactiepatronen die alliantieproblemen vaak versterken en interventies die gericht zijn op de reparatie van stagnaties. Ten slotte bespreken we het mogelijke specifieke effect van de reparatie van stagnaties op het behandelresultaat, evenals de meerwaarde van de toevoeging van technieken gericht op de signalering en reparatie van stagnaties aan evidence-based behandelingen.
