Essential elements of the work of every public health and health care worker concern communication: searching for information, sharing information and giving input in debates and discussions. In addition to traditional media as journals, conferences and newspapers, we more and more use the new or social media in our work. We are active in LinkedIn discussions, write tweets to share our opinions, and some of us even perform the largest part of their work on digital platforms. For those of us for whom this is not daily reality, we wrote this ‘spectrum’. People who are active on social media show us their use of these kinds of media. They also share their expectations, struggles and successes. …
