Relapsed pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a problem for which new treatment options are needed. Bortezomib (BTZ) is a new chemotherapeutic drug active against protein breakdown and is currently being tested in clinical trials for children with relapsed ALL and AML.
