Samenvatting

Pijn heeft veel gevolgen voor het dagelijks leven van de kinderen/jongeren. Ten aanzien van het functioneren op school is bekend dat pijn leidt tot meer schoolverzuim, een lager niveau van presteren en een slechter sociaal functioneren. In dit hoofdstuk wordt een visie gegeven op de behandeling die gericht is op een optimale terugkeer naar school. Hierbij is het van belang om het schoolfunctioneren in brede zin in kaart te brengen en aandacht te hebben voor factoren die mee kunnen spelen bij kind, ouders en school. Adviezen ten aanzien van opbouw en communicatie worden gegeven. De taken en rollen van partners in de keten met betrekking tot de terugkeer naar school worden besproken.
