Samenvatting

Ronna loopt hinkend naar haar kassa toe. Ze begroet Claire, die geschrokken vraagt wat er is gebeurd. ‘Het ging allemaal niet helemaal zoals gepland’, zegt Ronna en Claire knikt alsof ze het begrijpt. ‘Waar is Mannie?’ vraagt ze en Ronna kijkt verschrikt op. Ze besluiten Mannie buiten op de parkeerplaats te zoeken. Hij ligt ergens tussen de containers en wordt wakker van hun geschreeuw. Ronna vindt hem en ondertussen vindt Claire de sleutels van de auto op de grond. Als ze weg willen rijden vraagt Claire of Ronna nog genoeg geld bij elkaar heeft weten te sprokkelen. ‘Ik heb nog 20 over’, zegt ze, ‘misschien open ik wel een spaarrekening’. Mannie steekt vervolgens zijn hoofd tussen de stoelen door en vraagt: ‘Wat doen we met Nieuwjaar?’
