Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk gaat over twee aspecten van leiderschap: rolontwikkeling als professional en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Je rolontwikkeling betreft de activiteiten die je kunnen helpen om als leider te fungeren, niet alleen in je klinische microsysteem maar ook in de organisatorische en maatschappelijke context. We beschrijven verschillende modellen voor rolontwikkeling die op dit moment in de verpleegkunde actueel zijn. Persoonlijke ontwikkeling gaat over het ontwikkelen van je talenten, bewust worden van je krachten en zwakten, en hoe je bedreigingen het hoofd kunt bieden. Door een goede persoonlijke ontwikkeling kun je jouw dromen en ambities verwezenlijken. Hierbij gaat het niet alleen om de werkomgeving, maar in dit hoofdstuk richten wij ons daar vooral op. Tot slot beschrijven we een aantal cruciale factoren die van invloed zijn op de rolontwikkeling tot meesterschap. We sluiten af met een aantal adviezen voor de praktijk.
