Samenvatting

Een landelijke evidencebased Richtlijn intermitterende (zelf) katheterisatie bij kinderen is ontwikkeld, met als doel een eenduidige werkwijze te bewerkstelligen. Zorgverzekeraars zullen vergoedingen steeds meer baseren op evidencebased richtlijnen.
Het is belangrijk om, naast het technische aspect van de katheterisatie, veel aandacht te schenken aan het leerproces zelf. Bij goed aanleren zal (zelf)katheterisatie geen belangrijke emotionele problemen veroorzaken.
