37. Registratie van slaap en waak

Inleiding

Slaap- en waakstoornissen hebben pas sinds ongeveer 1970 de belangstelling van neurologen. Aanvankelijk betrof dit slechts een klein groepje specialisten verspreid over de wereld. De laatste vijftien jaar is de algemeen neuroloog in Nederland in toenemende mate betrokken bij de behandeling van patiënten bij wie er iets misgaat in het slapen en waken. Het doel van dit hoofdstuk is een globaal overzicht te geven van de diagnostische mogelijkheden van in de klinische neurofysiologie gangbare methoden. Achtereenvolgens komen aan de orde: algemene aspecten, poly(somno)grafie in modules, scoring van slaap en automatische analyse, richtlijnen voor praktisch gebruik van poly(somno)grafie, actigrafie en metingen aan de biologische klok.
