Op het gebied van de psychotherapie heeft zich de laatste jaren een aantal nieuwe ontwikkelingen voorgedaan. In dit nascholingsartikel beschrijven we een aantal van deze nieuwe vormen van psychotherapie: internettherapie, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy en schematherapie. We beschrijven de inhoud van deze behandelingen, gaan in op de wetenschappelijke evidentie ervoor en geven aan voor welke groepen patiënten deze therapieën effectief zijn gebleken. We eindigen met praktische implicaties voor de huisartsgeneeskundige praktijk.
