Extract

In 2011 the first babyboomer will become 65 years old. Everyone who lives to the age of 65 years is entitled to a state pension, and for many workers, it is also the age at which retirement begins. The current government intends to increase the retirement age to 66 years and eventually linking this to the increase in life expectancy. The questions that can be raised are: Do we really have to work longer? Can we work longer? Do we want to work longer? In this Spectrum, the possible increase in retirement age is discussed from various perspectives.
